Hungry For Truth

Almost 2,000 years ago, a Roman governor chose to ask a profound question of a man who was about to be executed. "What is truth?" he asked. Most people ponder that question at some time in their lives, especially at critical points when they are struggling with the question of the meaning of life. After all, the need for meaning is a basic human need, and there can be no meaning without some ultimate truth. People go lots of places to search for the truth except to God. Some people search there whole lives for truth but the last thing they would do would be to search for God’s Heart, God’s Plan, God’s Purpose God’s Blessing Guided by God’s Spirit (The Spirit of Truth) from God’s Word. Some people do not believe in an absolute truth. I believe in an absolute truth and I am unashamed in that Belief!..............So, What is Truth?

Scriptures:
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth”

John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ”

John 8:31-32 … So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me”

John 15:26  "When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me”

1 John 1:8  If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us”

1 John 3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth”

Quotes:
“Today not only in philosophy but in politics, government, and individual morality, our generation sees solutions in terms of synthesis and not absolutes. When this happens, truth, as people have always thought of truth, has died.”  ~ Francis Schaeffer

“Never let us be guilty of sacrificing any portion of truth on the altar of peace.” ~ J. C. Ryle
