One of the greatest tragedies is that for some of those who profess to follow Jesus don't actually follow him. For some they live the christian life as if Jesus had departed and was never returning. For others the christian life is made up of rules as enslaving as the Old Testament law. Without Jesus the Christian life is impossible. Then why is it, that for some this seems the norm. The first part of this study is a exegetical outline for the text. This helps in a number of ways. It helps focus your mind and heart on the important things. It helps you get into the word of God and mine for the meaning like a miner would mine for coal. It also helps establish and unlock the themes that are found in the passage. In the Sermon Notes part there are some reflections from Matthew 28:16-20 and some thoughts about what it looks like to have a life without Jesus. This is what I'm preaching on this morning in church. It will take about 40 mins. I could extend this and cultivate a five week series a different point for each week. This could be interesting.
