Day 4: Queensland Floods

The flooding is getting worse. The next 24 hours will be critical. The news here is full of flood details, many of the reports predict the floods will be worse than the flooding in 1974. At the moment there are 10 dead and 90 unaccounted for. It,s all over the news on every channel. It is truly horrific. At the other end of Australia in Perth there are bush fires with this also bringing loss of lives and homes. Our prayers should be with the people of Australia especially in Queensland and in Western Australia, Perth. I was planning to go to Brisbane, now that is not going to happen. The Australian government have responded with emergency payments for those who are displaced and have lost homes and livelihoods. If you are in the UK and you have any spare cash and are able to make a donation to the flood disaster fund, then do so and pledge your support and cash, check the web for details. We are seeing at the moment huge community efforts, and well spirited people who are going the extra mile to help others. Believe me when I say, It needs people in the UK to respond. I'm here in Melbourne and it has effected the whole of the people who live in the eastern seaboard of Australia. May God grant his blessing upon the Australian people at this time and bring them peace and receding waters. Amen.
